You can serve food on these platters but
most people consider them as art pieces to display either on
tabletops or on walls. They make wonderful wedding presents
and it is also possible to order sets.
GOLD
LEAVES PLATTER
This 12" diameter platter is a very useful size for
serving cookies or cake but you can also put it in a plate
stand and use it as a purely decorative piece. By the way
you can put this (or any of my pieces) in the dishwasher.
The glazes are all fired at stoneware temperatures and won't
wash off. This platter is $84
MANDALA
PLATTER
I pierce the foot on this 13" platter so
that it can be hung because it really is more decorative
than functional. Although this design has obvious links to
my exploration of woven patterns, it was partly inspired by
my studies of fractal geometry and chaos theory--thus my
symbolic representation of the universe or mandala. It does
take an amazingly long time to layer glazes on all of these
little surfaces so this is my most expensive piece at
$390.
TISKET-TASKET
PLATTER
This 14" platter is $360 and has a pierced
foot so that it can be hung on a wall. It also combines some
of my favorite glazes--each interesting in its own unique
surface-- and really harmonious together. There is a
companion piece for this platter - the TISKET-TASKET
VASE.
