LIDDED VESSELS

You don't actually have to put anything in a lidded vessel but... cookies, chocolate kisses and coffee nips are ideal contents. On the more mundane side, you could keep spare change or cotton balls or receipts in a lidded vessel. Probably prettier than what you are using now! Trust me - if you get one you'll use it!

CLIMBING LEAVES VESSEL

The medium is 8" high and 6" diameter and is $68.

Also please note that designs on the GLOBE VASES can also be done as lidded vessel designs!

GALAXY LIDDED VESSEL

Whether your decor is contemporary, ethnic, traditional or interplanetary, I think this vessel will enhance your visual environment.

The color choices here are red and gold but yellow or blue can be added or substituted or the entire pattern can be executed in a singe color.

See GALAXY VASES and GALAXY IKEBANA for some other ideas. This piece is approximately 8" high with an 8" diameter and is $150.

PETALS LIDDED VESSEL

This design of this piece was inspired by a portion of a painting by Georgia O'Keefe which hangs in the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.

This is the large size (7" diameter) which is $86. I do medium ($68) and small ones ($54) too. I used red clay for this piece but I can also do it with black stoneware.

You may have noticed that some of the pieces shown here have a lighter bright look (e.g. the TISKETTASKETVASE ). This is the effect of red clay underneath the glaze. Many of the pieces shown here with black clay can be done with red clay.

The main differences are:

  1. Lighter colors and more variety in color because many more glazes look good on the red clay;
  2. A brighter and more evenly surfaced gold/bronze glaze;
  3. A terracotta colored line instead of black;
  4. Lighter weight as the red clay is not as dense as the black.
